STaC
games start December 7th Thanks for a great October October
2009 was another great month! Our
total table count was up over 28%.
We did this in the face of the headwinds of an early winter sto=
rm
that had a significant effect on our late October attendance. We awarded 1,378.5 masterpoints la=
st
month. Compare this to the to=
tal
for October 2008: 744.90. We were able to do all of this while sill holding o=
ur
rates in check. The typical p=
layer
with a prepaid account paid $9.00 for a sectional rated game in Octobe=
r of
2008 and only $8.50 for the same sectional rated game in 2009. We have been able o do this in no =
small
part because of our excellent staff.
Brandon
Sheumaker Curt Soloff has only been wi=
th us
since late spring but he has already made his presence known. The Tuesday evening game is up ove=
r 50%
since he started running it and he has added a Friday morning game tha=
t is
starting to get a steady following.
In addition, he is now adding Non Life Master opportunities for
some of our newer players. Milt Shioya has been conducting our
Introduction To Duplicate sessions that have been bringing in new play=
ers. He has schooled them in the ethics=
of
the game. They know, for example, why hesitations are inappropriate and
why they are not being insulted when the director is called. He is bringing in new players that=
play
the game the right way. Alice
KinninghamI can’t say enough about the contribution that Duane Cindric adds to the
club. The refreshments that he
provides to the players are unparalleled.
I know this because every time a visitor plays at the club they
tell me. November 2009 .
